A rock pigeon (ID# AVC-W-2021-170), was found on ground being attacked by crow in at X St, Charlottetown, PE, and submitted to the Atlantic Veterinary College Wildlife Service by a member of the public on June 16, 2021.

7. Describe symptoms and outcome (died, recovered, etc.).
The pigeon presented recumbent with head cranked dorsally, pale mucous membrane, dilated pupils, legs and feet very red and hot to touch. 1mg/kg midazolam given I/M in the right pectoral muscle during seizure activity and feet were cooled with cold water. The pigeon died, suspect Avitrol toxicity. The specimen was received fresh by the CWHC Atlantic on June 17, 2021 for a necropsy. Crop samples were submitted for testing to a laboratory in Guelph, ON.
