1-24247476- The reporter, a pet owner, indicates his animal was exposed to a pesticide containing the active ingredient metaldehyde. The reporter indicates he applied the product to his yard earlier in the day prior to contacting the registrant. He indicates he observed his two year ten pound male mixed breed dog ingesting product applied one hour prior to initial contact with the registrant. The animal was observed ¿¿¿shaking under the tree? at the time of the initial contact. The pet owner was advised to seek immediate veterinary care for the animal. The caller was advised of typical treatments and prognosis in circumstances when domestic animals have ingested the active ingredient. On routine call back the pet owner indicated the animal had died shortly after his initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner did not have access to transportation and could not get the animal to the veterinarian. No further information is available.
